anonymous note

[There are only two things written on an otherwise blank sheet of paper: a single line of text in the middle and a two-word prompt in the bottom right corner.]

What is the definition of a good farmer?

A man outstanding in his field!!

You probably noticed that shit hit the fan (again) this month and that things have been flipped every which way because of it. If you somehow managed to miss the reveal, I would go ask a friend about asap. I don't know how long you've been here, so I don't know if you are used to to the fact that things have the tendency to be less-than-pleasant around here. (sorry for spoilers if you're sorta new) But I didn't send you this to focus on how awful everything is. Just the opposite, really.

I don't know who you are, and to tell you the truth: I picked your mailbox at random (Take your luck to a casino hotshot!) But I sent you this note to tell you not to give up. I know learning the truth probably made everything look pretty hopeless. But I promise you that this isn't the end. The truth is always better than a lie, even if the lie is the prettier option of the two. I am not psychic so I have no idea if the end will be in a year like Ruana said or if we can beat her at her own crazy game and claim our own ending sooner. But I do know this: if at any point you give up, you will never make it that far. So giving up is not allowed! Things don't have to go her way, we can write a much better ending to the story of this tower.

Everything is going to be ok. So don't lose hope, don't give up, and most importantly: don't forget how to smile.
